Questions about Grandstands / General Admission Area


What is the difference between "general admission area" and "grandstands"?
Grandstands are located around the circuit at ideal positions, providing you with the best view of the race. From every grandstand you can also watch one or more video screens. Grandstands offer numbered seats, and the Super Gold Grandstand is even covered.

The general admission area basically consists of the lawn surrounding the racetrack. You can either stand or sit in this area wherever you wish, yet this usually provides you with only a limited view of the circuit and the video screens. You may not take folding chairs with you into the racetrack area. Nor does the general admission area provide any shelter in the event of inclement weather.
Which days are included in a "weekend ticket"?
A weekend ticket entitles you to entry on each of the days of the race, that is, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Do you offer special tickets for wheelchair users?
At the Hungaroring there is no special wheelchair-accessible grandstand. Please book tickets on the grandstands along the start-/finish straight (Super Gold, Gold 1, Gold 2, Gold 3, Gold 4 oder Silber 5). Only with this grandstands the way to the grandstand is completely paved. We will reserve seats next to the aisle and issue a special parking ticket behind the Gold 4 grandstand. Please write a short note during your order in the comments field if you book for a wheelchair user.


Questions about parking


Free parking? What does that mean?
Every grandstand ticket includes a free parking in the Hungaroring owned parking lots to the tune of capacity! There are three Hungaroring owned parking lots around the circuit.

Besides grandstand tickets, do you offer any other special VIP tickets including meals or a special VIP service?

Questions about our hotel offers


Is there a minimum booking time for hotels?
Yes, during the Formula One weekend all hotels in Budapest have a minimum booking time between 2 and 4 nights. The minimum booking time for each of our hotels is stated on the hotel description pages.
How can I select another arrival or departure date?
For each category of rooms you will find a selection field for entering the arrival and departure dates.
Are your prices per person or per room?
All hotel prices found here are per room. The prices for half board are per person.
How do I reserve a hotel room?
First, you pay for your hotel room along with your tickets using the most convenient method of payment, either by bank transfer or credit card. You will then be sent your hotel voucher along with your Formula One tickets.


Questions about our campsite offers


What is the difference between the campgrounds?
The prices are on all campgrounds the same. The only difference between the campgrounds is their location. You can find an overview of the campgrounds on this map.

Beside Camping Aqua is the only campsite at the Hungaroring that is open the whole year, therefore offers the best infrastructure.
What hours are the campgrounds open?
Generally speaking, the campgrounds are open 24 hours a day. If you plan to arrive during the night, please advise of this while ordering and we will make sure that everything goes smoothly upon your arrival.
Do the campgrounds provide tents, campers or camping equipment?
No.
What is the difference between special offers and individual reservations?
Special offers represent package deals on the most popular combinations of bookings. They are thus easier to book and much more inexpensive than individual reservations.

Individual reservations are only necessary in the case that you cannot find a suitable special offer.
Can I combine special offers with individual reservations?
No. Special offers only exist in the way we extend them. You cannot, for example, just add another person to your booking. If you cannot find a special offer to suit you, you must make an individual reservation.


Questions about the Cancellation Cover


Why do you offer cancellation insurance?
In accord with our business terms, tickets that have been ordered and paid for cannot be cancelled. This is the reason that we offer cancellation insurance together with our partner, the Europaeische Reiseversicherung (European Travel Insurance).
What does cancellation insurance cover?
Ticket coverage covers the cost of your tickets for the case that you are unable to attend the Formula One event due to one of the cancellation reasons. You will be reimbursed with the ticket costs in the event that you are unable to travel. Insurance coverage begins at midnight of the day you sign the policy and continues on up to the day of the event.


Questions about Ordering


When ordering more than one ticket, will the seats be issued beside each other?
If you order more than one ticket on one bill, the seats are always issued beside each other. Should this for any reason not be possible, e.g. because it is too late, we will advise you beforehand so that you can decide whether to accept seats on another grandstand.
Can I order seats for a group so that all of us are able to sit behind each other in a block of seats?
Yes, please include this request in the "Comments" field when ordering.
As all of the seats are numbered, is it possible to reserve specific seats?
You may decide where on the grandstand you want to sit if you order and pay for your tickets by October 31st, 2007. Let us know your preferences using the "Comments" field, including terms such as: upper - center - lower; or: left - center - right.

For all orders made after October 31st, 2007, the tickets will be sent in the order in which payment is made. You may state your preferred seating position, but we are not obliged to fulfill your request and under no circumstances can we guarantee that we will be able to.
How old do my children have to be to be able to book a juniorticket at a reduced rate?
Juniortickets are valid for children from 0 to 17 years of age. If, therefore, your child has his/her 18th birtday after August 3rd, 2008, the juniorticket applies.
What is your Organizer Guarantee all about?
Our Organizer Guarantee ensures you that there is no cheaper way of ordering tickets for the Grand Prix of Hungary. You order your tickets directly from the organizer of the race, meaning: no commissions to pay for and the best selection of seats along with the fastest availability.
Can I order additional tickets at a later point in time?
This is no problem as long as your original order has not yet been sent out. Just include the original order number when ordering additional tickets. Your tickets will then be issued together (thus, everyone sits together) and sent out in the same shipment (shipping costs are incurred only once).

The contract will be concluded between you and us in the following way:

 

  1. On the page, please select the services and tickets (+/-) you wish to purchase, then click on the corresponding “Order” button.
  2. Next, select your region and specify the payment method, then click on the “Proceed with order” button.
  3. Please check the contents of your shopping cart.
  4. Then enter the data required under “Order information”. Please remember that we will mail the tickets ordered and paid for to the address provided here.
  5. Please indicate if you wish to use our “gift certificate" service.
  6. After you read and accepted the General Terms and Conditions and the privacy statement, please tick the corresponding box, and then submit your order, which will constitute a contractual offer toward us.
  7. The contract will eventually be concluded by way of our e-mail confirmation or the sending of the tickets within 14 days of the order.

Questions about Payment


How can I pay?
When ordering, you have the choice of paying by bank transfer, credit card or maestro secure code. As credit cards accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club.
How do I pay by bank transfer?
When ordering, choose the option "pay by bank transfer". If your order is successful, you will receive an invoice by email in pdf format. Please pay this invoice by euro bank transfer within the payment term specified, usually within 10 days, and without the payee having to carry any charges. Once your account with us has been credited with the amount, you will receive an email confirming that payment has been received.
How do I pay by credit card?
When ordering, choose the option "payment by credit card" and enter your credit card information in the fields as specified. Your credit card will be debited with the total amount of your order, and you will receive an invoice and receipt of payment by email in pdf format once we have been credited with this amount.

Please note that for security reasons the person ordering must be also the holder of the credit card, meaning that tickets are sent exclusively to the credit card holders address.
Do you offer a discount when I am ordering more tickets?
Tickets are offered face value, no discounts are possible.
Do you offer special terms to travel agencies and tour operators?
Please send us an email at forma1@hungaroinfo.com, providing evidence of your field of business and the number of reservations you anticipate requiring.


Questions about sending the tickets


When are tickets sent?
Tickets are sent out at the latest two weeks prior to the race. We can ensure you of this deadline. Assuming that tickets are ordered and paid for on time, we are usually able to send them out 1 to 1 ˝ months prior to the event, although we cannot guarantee this.
How are tickets sent?
Tickets are sent by UPS Express. United Parcel Service (UPS) has been our partner for three years and, of the thousands of shipments made each year since, we have not "lost" a single ticket during shipment.

Express means that you have the guarantee of your tickets being delivered within 48 hours on working days, but usually within 24 hours (unless delivery takes place over a weekend).
Is the package insured?
Yes, all packages are insured up to a value of EUR 20.000,00. If your order sum is more than that, we will split to two or more package in order to ensure full insurance coverage.


Questions about the Circuit


How do I get to the circuit by car?
The racetrack is about 22 km from the center of Budapest. Leaving Budapest, follow the M3 highway. Here you can download a map of how to get there.
How do I get to the circuit by public transportation?
With the free shuttle bus:
A shuttle bus leaves for the circuit from the bus station on the Pest side of the Árpád Bridge.
The service is free of charge for all passengers presenting a vaild ticket for the Formula One.
Point of departure at Árpád bridge Pest side, point of arrival, Mogyoród church square.

Friday

Árpád bridge: from 08.30 till 11.30 every 20-30 minutes
Mogyoród church square: from 14.45 till 18.00 every 20-30 minutes

Saturday

Árpád bridge: from 07.00 till 11.30 every 10-20 minutes
Mogyoród church square: from 14.45 till 18.00 every 10-20 minutes

Sunday

Árpád bridge: from 07.30 till 11.00 every 5-10 minutes
Mogyoród church square: from 16.00 till 18.30 every 5-10 minutes


By train:
Train service also exists. The train (called the Gödöllõi HÉV) leaves the Örs Vezér tér station every half an hour beginning at 4:30 a.m., stopping at the temporary train station named "Hungaroring". Please find the exact timetable at www.bkv.hu. The train is not free of charge, costing approx. HUF 430,00 for a one way ticket. (1€ = approx. HUF 245)
Can you recommend a taxi service?
Tele 5 Taxi, Buda Taxi and Taxi4, longstanding partners of ours, will take you to the Hungaroring and return you home for a lump sum price. You will be brought to Gate 1 and picked up from there.
